More Cult/Anti-Cult Madness

Here's a video someone took of Anonymous' protest against Scientology on 10 Febrary. The 10 Feb., incidentally, is the date they drew from the movie/comic strip, V for Vendetta. The network (which one takes to be sort of a non-violent group of hackers who organize themselves in a similar way, virally, that is, to the way Al Quaeda organizes themselves) suggested the protesters wear Guy Fawkes masks for the protest in front of the Church of Scientology building as well. By the way, I am not making any comparisons in any other way than their methods of "recruitment" between Chanology/Anonymous and Al Quaeda. It's just interesting how the internet and other electronic media have been so useful for insurgency groups, be they positive or negative.

In this video, you get a very good idea of the cold and dreary weather we have been having for many weeks. Actually, it's even colder now (-12 celsius). Whoever shot this video did a really good job. I want to use clips from it in a movie in the unlikely event of me ever making a feature film!

Lisa McPherson — Date of Birth: February 10, 1959

That is why we chose that date.

Hey, Untunlich, nice to hear from you. The man shouts the same words are the crowd, which are: "Whare are they dead?" He also adds, "We are Anonymous!"

"Why are they dead" refers to some people, including Lisa McPherson, whom many people suspect the Scientologist movement had killed so as to silence their exposing certain details about the church. Bizarre, really. A little bit like reading Cloud Atlas again.
