Blogging Challenges

What do you think of the new look? Constructive criticisms are welcome. I know that it's an improvement over some other blogs I've seen, but is it an improvement yet over my older format? Should I keep the older template or should I continue using the new one? Ultimately, it's up to me, but I am enjoying most of the "improvements." I much prefer the simpler, easier to decipher HTML that Blogger used to use. I haven't really altered the new HTML, and that' a problem for me. Even someone with no math or computer programming skills or anything like that could tinker with the old HTML, and discover how certain things worked or didn't work. With the new HTML, now matter how much I try to figure out the new HTML amidst the newfangled template and gadget code...I just don't understand it. I almost suspect that they meant it to be tamper free. It is so tamper free, however, that it's almost impossible to change anything without using the Design Elements. This is a little sad, because I would like to eliminate a few things, and shrink the overlay of the post area. What I mean is the area where the sidebar and main content overlap. When I had the sidebar set to "transparent," some of the text too obviously ran over the allotted text content area. I don't know if my description is making any sense.

P.S. Today, my recommended post is one about food, primarily, with a few gratuitous cat pictures thrown in for cheap effect. Don't you just hate that? Not! that cat is so cute, but I feel bad for it, because it doesn't live in the comfort of a house like my kitten, Snowball. Anyway, check out this post, at Epicurious Travels.

It looks OK to me (can't compare, because I haven't read here in the past), but personally, I'd keep it more simple, with less colors, and without a background .jpg.

It would help to make just the more of pictures like this one.
